AccelR8 Ventures
BACKGROUND
When AccelR8 Ventures (at the time, ACCELR8) approached me for a full rebrand, the Boston-based climate venture fund had a crystal clear investment strategy. However, they lacked a distinct visual identity and brand presence. As a brand strategy partner, I worked in lockstep with the team to translate their business ethos into a unique, scalable brand system.
Brand assets are built off the skeleton of the logo and capture its sense of momentum and compounding returns.
APPROACH
AccelR8 Ventures invests in technology that will create systems of exponential positive change for our planet. The concept of “reinforcing loops” has been central to their identity since the fund was founded and inspired the “R8” (reinforcing loops) in their name. We ultimately centered their brand identity around this visualization. The infinitely spiraling curves of the logo and brand assets not only represent a system of positive returns, but also the world of science and technology in which AccelR8 Ventures invests.
The logo is inspired by the continuous impacts of AccelR8’s investments. Its geometry draws from physics diagrams and precise mathematical curves – a nod to the team’s scientific background.
A strong grid system balances the curves of the logo and brand assets. This layout system reflects the team’s analytical, systematic approach to evaluating climate technologies.
The color palette pulls inspiration from nature, but its muted, mature tones avoid “eco” clichés of pure blue and green.
